This is a dipping sauce or condiment that is a staple in all Vietnamese kitchens. You can make a large quantity and keep in a bowl or jar for a month in the fridge. It has the delicious combination of salty, sweet and sour all in one. Usually put over rice, vermicelli or grilled meats to make it a taste sensation. This recipe works on a 1:1:5 basis of Fish sauce, Sugar and Water.
Ingredients
Fish Sauce (5 Tb)
Water (25 Tb)
Sugar (5 Tb)
Garlic (2 cloves finely sliced)
Chilli (1 small chilli finely sliced)
Lemon (1)
Preparation
Squeeze juice from the lemon and combine all other ingredients in a jar or bowl and stir until sugar is dissolved.
Can store in a jar or bowl in the fridge for up to a month.
